When you first create a database in QuickDoc, you'll choose a default layout. To add a new view, select + next to your current views. Depending on your screen size, you might need to open the dropdown next to your current view and select Add view.

Add Descriptions to Views

  1. Select a view and choose Edit view.

  2. Click the icon next to the view’s name, then enter your description.

Hover over a view to see its description.

Switch Between Views

Reorder your views by dragging them. If you have many views, select {#} more... to organize them.

Sidebar View Menu

In the sidebar, views appear as nested items in any full-page database, marked with a . Click on any view to jump directly to it.

Customize Your Database Views

Click the view's name to rename, duplicate, delete, copy its link, or edit its components. You can also access these options by clicking ••• at the top right of the database.

Customizable Components:

  • Layout: Choose how your database is visually organized.

  • Properties: Show or hide database properties for each view.

  • Filters: Add criteria to show or hide data based on property values.

  • Sorts: Sort data by a property to change the display order.

  • Groups: Group data by property values.

Link to Your Database View

Copy an anchor link to share a specific view of your database:

  1. Click ••• at the top right of your table.

  2. Select Copy link to {view} to copy the URL to your clipboard.

Database Layouts

QuickDoc offers six ways to visualize your content:

  • Table: Traditional rows and columns.

  • Board: Group items by property, like a Kanban board.

  • Timeline: Plot projects on a timeline.

  • Calendar: Display items based on their Date property.

  • List: Minimal, vertical layout.

  • Gallery: Display images from the Files & media property or within each page.

Open Pages As

Choose how pages open within each view:

  • Side peek: Opens pages on the right while keeping the database view interactive on the left.

  • Center peek: Opens pages in a center modal.

  • Full page: Opens pages as full pages.

To change the setting, click ••• at the top right of your database and open the Layout menu. Scroll down to Open pages in to adjust the setting.

Filters

Easily filter your database to display items that meet specific criteria.

Add a Filter

  1. Click Filter at the top of your database.

  2. Choose the property you'd like to filter by in the dropdown.

Edit all applied filters by clicking the filter icon. Add as many filters as you'd like.

Add an Advanced Filter

Create specific views using AND and OR logic with filter groups:

  1. Click the filter icon at the top of your database and select Add advanced filter.

  2. Customize the AND and OR logic to refine your view.

Tip: Turn a filter into a filter group by clicking ••• next to the filter and selecting Add to advanced filter.

Sorts

Sort your database by properties in ascending or descending order.

  1. Click at the top of your database.

  2. Choose the property to sort by in the dropdown.

Reorder multiple sorts by dragging them up or down using ⋮⋮.

Groups

Group your database by different properties:

  1. Click ••• and select Group.

  2. Choose the property type to group by, such as Select, Multi-select, Person, Text, Number, Date, etc.

Toggle groups open or closed and hide empty groups with the Hide empty groups toggle.

Search Your Database

Search for specific content:

  1. Click 🔎 at the top right.

  2. Type the word(s) you're looking for.

The database updates in real-time to show matching items.

Freeze Column

Freeze a column to keep it visible while scrolling:

  1. Click the column name.

  2. Select Freeze up to column.

Unfreeze by clicking the column name again and selecting Unfreeze column.
